Monster Hunter Wilds reaches 11 million sales, but struggles to stay on the best-seller list amid competition from Resident Evil and Devil May Cry.
Despite its rocky performance, it’s been confirmed that Monster Hunter Wilds has surpassed 11 million copies sold, although its sales momentum appears to have slowed down.
The issues surrounding Monster Hunter Wilds are well-documented. While the game faced some balancing challenges, the real concern has been its poor performance, particularly on PC. Updates have struggled to meet player expectations, and a strange bug related to DLC has led to improved performance in certain areas when all DLC is installed.
In the latest financial report, it was revealed that Monster Hunter Wilds has officially crossed the 11 million sales threshold, allowing it to surpass Devil May Cry 5 and secure its place as Capcom’s eighth-best-selling game ever.
However, despite this achievement, the latest entry in the Monster Hunter series is barely holding onto a spot in the company’s top 10 best-sellers for the last quarter. Both Monster Hunter Rise and its expansion, Sunbreak, have outperformed Wilds. This trend has been consistent, indicating that Rise is gaining traction while Wilds continues to face challenges.
The remainder of the top 10 is largely filled with Resident Evil titles, with Street Fighter 6 also hitting the 6 million sales mark. Interestingly, there was a mix-up in the sales figures, listing the fighting game at 16 million instead of Resident Evil 7. Meanwhile, Devil May Cry 5 has added another 2.4 million copies to its total since April 2025, showing that even if the quality of its Netflix series was questionable, it has positively impacted game sales.
Additionally, dataminers have reportedly found hints suggesting that a Switch 2 port for Monster Hunter Wilds may be in the works.
