Ryan Reynolds is set to dive into the development of Deadpool 4.

Despite his previous comments suggesting otherwise, it appears Ryan Reynolds is indeed gearing up for Deadpool 4. He had previously quipped, “Oh god no,” when asked about the next installment, but reports indicate he’s back in the game, working on a new chapter for the franchise.

This information comes from an outlet citing unnamed sources familiar with the project. Although Reynolds expressed a desire to spend more time with his family after the release of 2024’s Deadpool and Wolverine, it seems he’s ready to return to the role that made him a household name.

In a lighthearted moment, Reynolds joked, “Oh god no. My wife and children will divorce me. I have no prenup with any of them. I will be capital ‘B’ broke, and in turn, probably then doing Deadpool 4 because I’d need the money.”

In another interview, he mentioned that the six-year gap between Deadpool 2 and the upcoming film is due in part to Marvel Studios acquiring 20th Century Fox, the studio behind the first two movies.

There’s also a possibility that Deadpool could make an appearance in Avengers: Doomsday, Avengers: Secret Wars, or both. While the full cast for Doomsday hasn’t been announced, it already features a wide array of characters from the MCU. Secret Wars could be even more expansive, offering a chance to include one of Marvel’s most beloved characters in this multiverse-spanning adventure.

As we await further updates on Deadpool 4, fans can keep an eye on all the upcoming Marvel movies and shows currently in development.
