New Action RPG from Former Diablo Developers Set to Debut This Week with a Playable Demo Before February’s Steam Next Fest

Moon Beast Productions, a team of former Blizzard developers known for their work on Diablo, is set to unveil its first ARPG title this week.

While the studio hasn’t launched a game yet, it’s hard to find a team with a stronger action RPG background than Moon Beast Productions. Comprised mainly of ex-Blizzard North talent who contributed to Diablo, Torchlight, and Hellgate: London, many team members were instrumental in creating Diablo 2, often hailed as the best in the series. This week, we’ll finally get a glimpse of what they’ve been developing.

In a message shared on the Moon Beast Discord, Phil Shenk, the lead character artist from Diablo 2, announced that on Thursday, January 29 at 6am PT / 9am ET / 2pm GMT, the studio will reveal “GAME NAME.” Alongside this announcement, a Steam page, a Kickstarter “coming soon” page, and a website will go live.

Even without a confirmed title, players won’t have to wait long to try it out. Shenk confirmed that “The demo will be available on Steam before Next Fest, which is on February 23.” The Kickstarter campaign for the game is also expected to launch in February, likely on the same date. Shenk mentioned, “We haven’t finalized the exact date yet, but there will be advance warning here on Discord.”

He concluded with heartfelt thanks to the community for their support and interest in Moon Beast and “GAME NAME.” With a title that intriguing, it’s hard not to be curious about its true name when it’s revealed later this week.

In other news, the action RPG No Rest for the Wicked from the studio behind Ori has surged to the top of the Steam charts following a co-op update, surpassing titles like Arc Raiders, Marvel Rivals, and Helldivers 2.
