GTA 5 Online Update Squashes Bugs, Prevents Players from Randomly Spawning in the Ocean: “Kudos to the Dev Team”
Rockstar is likely aware of the tears being shed over the multiple delays of GTA 6, but at least you can now dry those tears with some freshly acquired cash in your GTA 5 Online mansion. The developer has rolled out the substantial Update 1.72.
The patch notes detail various enhancements to the Rockstar Mission Creator, new mansions in GTA 5, and a range of general fixes. A notable improvement is that players should no longer find themselves unexpectedly stranded in the Pacific Ocean.
“Fixed an issue that resulted in players spawning in the ocean while exiting El Rubio’s compound during The Cayo Perico Heist,” Rockstar notes in the bug fixes section. Additionally, “Several changes and fixes have been made to Creator Content I-V missions addressing issues with objectives,” along with “general fixes for stability.”
In the Rockstar Mission Creator, players can look forward to several enhancements, including a fix for cutscenes that sometimes had graphical glitches, improvements to actor behavior during hacking, and the addition of new Wanted Level Options to the Mission Creator.
“I know that a lot of people are disappointed with the GTA 6 delay,” one fan shared on Twitter, “but I have to give props to the devs for the updates to GTA 5.”
However, it’s a bit disheartening to see that in GTA 5’s lavish mansions, Rockstar has “fixed issues that could result in the pet dog floating and the prompt for petting to persist on screen.” Shouldn’t a dog that has unlocked the ability to fly be showered with endless affection?
Rockstar co-founder Dan Houser departed the studio partly due to the lengthy development times of GTA 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2, stating, “I don’t know if I had another one of those games in me.”
