Dune: Awakening Chapter 3 Set to Enhance Endgame Experience, Welcoming Back Lapsed Players with Tax Removal and More Improvements
Dune: Awakening is gearing up to enhance its endgame experience once again. With the Chapter 3 update, developer Funcom aims to address the concerns many players have voiced about the previous endgame, promising “A BIGGER, BETTER ENDGAME.”
“When it comes to the endgame, the specifics of what you’re looking for varies across both players and player types,” Funcom notes in a Steam post. “We’ve combined your feedback with solid in-game data.” Since its launch in 2025, players have pointed out that the endgame can be particularly challenging for solo adventurers, but Funcom has committed to making improvements. While the developer acknowledges that “we’re not going to please everyone,” Chapter 3 seeks to reduce the frustration of players feeling overwhelmed by the game’s challenges.
“This update is a direct response to the two most common player requests: a more developed endgame and a smoother experience for those returning after a break,” Funcom explains.
Chapter 3 will introduce enhanced character progression and additional content for players approaching the end of their journey. For those who have been away, there’s good news: the unpopular tax system is being scrapped, and Funcom will provide resource “return packages” to help players who haven’t logged in for 28 days ease back into the game.
“We believe this update delivers a richer and more engaging endgame in Dune: Awakening, but our work is far from done,” Funcom states. “There are many more exciting things ahead, and we look forward to sharing more with you soon.”
Additionally, the new patch allows players to switch servers without the need to create a new character.
