Arc Raiders: Complete Guide to the With a View Quest

The “With a View” quest from the Headwinds update in Arc Raiders challenges players to locate a Rotary Encoder, utilize it in a Stella Montis Control Room, and then deliver an Ion Sputter to Shani. The real challenge lies in tracking down these two items. The Rotary Encoder is classified as Rare, while the Ion Sputter boasts Epic rarity, meaning you’ll be racing against the clock and other players to secure them. To help you navigate this mission, here’s a guide to completing the “With a View” quest in Arc Raiders.

Here are the key tasks you need to accomplish to finish the “With a View” quest:

It’s advisable to hunt for both the Ion Sputter and the Rotary Encoder before tackling tasks two through four. This way, you won’t have to revisit the Stella Montis map more than necessary. Additionally, once you’ve used the Rotary Encoder, consider passing it on to another player who needs it. You can still claim your reward even if you don’t return with the Rotary Encoder, and since they’re hard to find, your generosity will be appreciated.

You can only find a Rotary Encoder on Stella Montis. As a Rare Exodus item, it’s likely to appear in locations like the Assembly and Business Center. However, it can also spawn in other areas, so be sure to check high-tier loot spots like Medical Research, Assembly Workshops, and the Lobby.

These items won’t be just lying around. Be sure to search shelves, drawers, and any breachable areas for the Rotary Encoder. Don’t hesitate to ask fellow Raiders for assistance; someone who has already completed the quest might be willing to help.

Once you’ve secured a Rotary Encoder, make your way to the Assembly Workshops located above the Assembly. Look for stairwells leading up to offices, and head inside to find one of the two rooms where you can use the Rotary Encoder.

In both Control Rooms, you’ll spot a bright yellow server switch. Interact with it to activate, and then you’ll have one final task to complete.

In the same room, approach one of the computers. There should be an interaction point, so activate the nearby computer to finish the quest.

Finding the Ion Sputter may prove more challenging due to its Epic rarity. Like the Rotary Encoder, it’s also an Exodus item, so check the same locations, including Assembly and Business Center, but don’t overlook other areas like Medical Research.

At the start of a match, it’s best to spawn near Assembly or Medical Research. As soon as the game begins, other Raiders will be scouring Stella Montis, making it a race against them. Again, don’t hesitate to ask other players for help, especially if you have another item to trade.

Once you’ve completed everything, head back to Speranza to claim your rewards, including one of the Arc Raiders Augments.
