Arc Raiders Faces Scheduling Issues Amid Bird City Launch: “Hey, jobless gamers, how’s the new map event treating you?”
The Headwinds update for Arc Raiders has unleashed a flock of birds upon Buried City, turning the map into a vibrant avian spectacle at specific times. However, the timing of this feathered frenzy poses a challenge for players in various time zones, making it tough for them to join in unless they’re gaming during odd hours.
Known as Bird City, this event occurs in three one-hour windows each day. For those in GMT, the slots are: 12:00 am – 1:00 am, 8:00 am – 9:00 am, and 4:00 pm – 5:00 pm. With these intervals repeating every eight hours, it’s not exactly convenient for anyone with a standard nine-to-five job, leaving many fans feeling excluded from the fun.
“Hey, unemployed folks, are you enjoying the new map event?” one frustrated player vented on the extraction shooter’s subreddit. “Considering Embark is a European company (Swedish), it’s pretty ironic that they make their new gameplay content so inaccessible for European players,” another commenter added.
The core issue lies in the rigid scheduling. Bird City and many other events in Arc Raiders follow a strict 24-hour cycle, and if the timing doesn’t align with your availability, you’re out of luck. While other in-game modifiers occur more frequently, the limited slots for this event have left many players feeling frustrated.
“This is the only real daily complaint. It doesn’t make sense that events don’t cycle, so everyone can eventually participate,” remarked another Redditor. “I’m really tired of the fixed schedules,” another chimed in. “It took me ages to get a Bobcat BP because I’m a regular working stiff. I couldn’t care less about trinket spawns, but it would be nice to check it out without sacrificing work or sleep once in a while.”
They were referring to the Bobcat blueprint available during the Locked Gate event on The Blue Gate. A potential solution discussed in the community is to implement dynamic timing; instead of a rigid 24-hour loop, adjusting it to 23 or 22 hours could increase the chances of finding a suitable hourly slot.
Whatever the outcome, Embark may need to consider some adjustments. Players are already growing weary of the current setup, and it’s always disappointing when gamers miss out on special events.
In other news, Arc Raiders players believe they’ve discovered a new duplication exploit, and judging by the 40 Tempest blueprints I’ve seen, they might be onto something.
