Vin Diesel announces title and release date for the last Fast and Furious movie.

Vin Diesel, the gravelly-voiced king of the racing scene, has finally dropped some exciting news for Fast and Furious fans this weekend. After the jaw-dropping cliffhanger of Fast X, which left viewers questioning the fate of half the crew and teased the return of Hobbs and Gisele, Diesel took to Instagram to announce when we can expect to see Dom and what’s left of his family again, along with the film’s title.

“No one said the road would be easy… but it’s ours,” Diesel shared, alongside a nostalgic image of Dominic Toretto receiving the keys to his escape from Brian O’Conner, played by the late Paul Walker. “One that has defined us and become our legacy… And a legacy… lasts Forever. March 17th, 2028! FAST FOREVER.”

So, there you have it. The eleventh installment, and likely the final chapter of the saga, will be called Fast Forever. While the wait is long, it might be necessary given the extensive behind-the-scenes work needed in the Toretto garage.

In October 2025, it was reported that budget cuts were being enforced on Fast Forever after a script was submitted with a hefty estimated production cost of $250 million. This situation was exacerbated by Fast X’s disappointing box office performance, which brought in just $705 million against a $340 million budget. As a result, studio executives demanded a 20% reduction in costs for the concluding film.

This could explain why Diesel hinted that Fast Forever might steer the franchise back toward its roots in street racing, rather than the over-the-top globe-trotting and even space escapades seen in the latest entries.

Let’s hope everything goes smoothly, and we don’t have to wait an eternity for one last ride. In the meantime, fans can dive into the rankings of the Fast and Furious films.
