MindsEye CEO Takes Legal Action Against YouTuber Over Epstein Video

Mark Gerhard, co-CEO of MindsEye and developer of Build a Rocket Boy, has issued a formal cease and desist notice against YouTuber Cyber Boi in the official MindsEye Discord server. He accused Cyber Boi of “media manipulation, espionage, [and] sabotage,” claiming interference aimed at Build a Rocket Boy.

Gerhard’s message came shortly after Cyber Boi released a video titled “Leslie Benzies is in the Epstein Files,” which the YouTuber later removed due to threats of “escalated legal action.” Benzies, prior to his role at MindsEye, was a long-time producer at Rockstar Games, known for his work on the Grand Theft Auto series, before leaving in 2016 after two decades.

On January 30, the Department of Justice unveiled over 3 million new files related to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. Among the revelations was the fact that Epstein had emailed 4chan links containing Five Nights at Freddy’s porn to his ex-girlfriend and had been banned from Xbox Live.

Reports indicated that the new Epstein files also mentioned Leslie Benzies, founder and co-CEO of Build a Rocket Boy and former president of Rockstar North.

On January 31 at 8:44 a.m. ET, Cyber Boi released a video discussing an alleged encounter between an Epstein victim and Benzies. Just 18 minutes later, at 9:02 a.m. ET, Mark Gerhard issued the cease and desist notice in the MindsEye Discord, tagging Cyber Boi’s official account.

Users on Cyber Boi’s Discord noticed the video had vanished around 9:37 a.m. ET. Cyber Boi later explained, “I took it down, they threatened legal action. Can’t be arsed with the drama of it all.” Several other videos on his channel were also removed, including one featuring an interview with a disgruntled former member of Build a Rocket Boy’s development team.

Gerhard was previously involved in another Discord controversy back in May 2025, where he claimed there was a “concerted effort” by an unknown individual to spread negative rumors about the game, suggesting that “there are bot farms posting negative comments and dislikes.”

Neither Gerhard nor Benzies has responded to requests for comment.
