Abxylute Unveils Switch 2 Controller Tailored for GameCube Enthusiasts

Abxylute, known for the M4 magnetic mobile gamepad, is gearing up to launch two new controllers for the Nintendo Switch 2, aimed at enhancing handheld gameplay by replacing the standard Joy-Cons. Set to debut soon on Kickstarter, these controllers connect directly to the console via its bottom USB-C port, allowing them to draw power while docked. The Abxylute N6 resembles existing accessories like the CRKD Nitro Deck, while the N9C has a unique design that looks like a GameCube controller split in half and attached to the console.

Pricing details for both controllers are still under wraps, but the N9C will feature capacitive joysticks, ABXY buttons, and mechanical micro-switch triggers, along with a dedicated C button for GameChat access. Its button layout is reminiscent of the classic GameCube controller, likely appealing to nostalgic gamers who enjoy the limited selection of GameCube titles added to Nintendo Switch Online or fans of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate who prefer the iconic controller. Notably, the N9C’s right joystick includes a swappable gate that restricts movement to eight directions, enhancing precision for fighting game maneuvers.

On the other hand, the N6 adopts a more contemporary asymmetrical design and boasts several upgrades over the N9C. It features drift-resistant Hall effect joysticks, thicker grips compared to standard Joy-Cons, digital triggers, and ABXY buttons with a rubber membrane for a softer touch. Additionally, it includes customizable back buttons for programming macros directly on the controller. A resonance chamber located below the Switch 2 is designed to channel audio from the console’s speakers toward the player, while also enhancing lower frequencies by approximately 10 percent, according to Abxylute.
