In Helldivers 2, the Bastion Tank is a new universal Stratagem that you can unlock by spending a hefty amount of Requisition Slips at your Ship Management console. While it may not be as armored as you’d hope, it boasts a powerful cannon and machine gun, living up to its “tank destroyer” title, and it accommodates your entire team like the FRV. If you’re gearing up for the Automaton front, you’ll want to bring the biggest firepower available. Here’s everything you need to know about unlocking and utilizing the Bastion Tank in Helldivers 2.

To unlock the Bastion Tank Stratagem, locate the “TD-220 Bastion Mk XVI” Stratagem in the Hangar section of your Super Destroyer’s Ship Management console, and pay the 35,000 Requisition Slips fee. While I can’t confirm if there’s a level requirement, it’s likely similar to the Helldivers 2 mechs, which unlock at level 25. However, since it’s a universal Stratagem, any Helldivers 2 player can access it if they have the funds. Once unlocked, you can select the Bastion Tank as part of your Stratagems when setting up your ideal Helldivers 2 loadout. You can then call it in like any other vehicle, ready to face the foes of Super Earth, especially effective against the heavily armored Helldivers 2 Automatons!

Keep in mind that the Bastion requires at least two players to operate: one to drive and the other to handle the 120mm cannon and coaxial heavy machine gun. The gun can move slightly, but the turret doesn’t rotate like a traditional tank, so teamwork is essential, and ammo is limited. It’s also large enough to crush smaller enemies by running them over. You can call in multiple Bastion Tanks during a single mission, but remember that the cooldown is over 12 minutes, so you won’t be deploying them frequently. The Bastion Tank’s introduction coincided with the release of the Helldivers 2 Siege Breakers Warbond.
