Apple TV has revealed the first look at “Lucky,” a new limited drama series featuring Anya Taylor-Joy in her first television role since her breakout in “The Queen’s Gambit.”

In the teaser trailer, a voice asks, “So, why are we here, Lucky?” to which Taylor-Joy’s character responds, “It’s like anything else. A series of bad decisions over an extended period of time.”

According to the official synopsis, “When a multi-million-dollar heist goes wrong, con artist Lucky must go on the run. With both the FBI and a ruthless crime boss on her tail, she has to fight for her life and find a way out.” The action-packed teaser showcases Lucky making daring escapes, evading FBI agents, and even hints at a romantic subplot.

The cast also features Annette Bening, Timothy Olyphant, Aunjanue Ellis Taylor, and Drew Starkey, with a first look at their characters available below.

Based on the New York Times bestselling novel by Marissa Stapley, the series is penned by “Star Wars: Starfighter” screenwriter Jonathan Tropper and executive produced by Reese Witherspoon.

Next for Taylor-Joy is “The Super Mario Galaxy Movie,” where she reprises her role as Princess Peach. Later this year, she will also appear as Alia Atreides in “Dune 3.”

“Lucky” premieres on Apple TV on July 15. In the meantime, check out our guide to the most exciting new TV shows coming in 2026.
