A new anime based on a manga by Fullmetal Alchemist creator Hiromu Arakawa is on the way, and it’s shaping up to be one of the standout anime of 2026.

The first trailer for the anime, titled Daemons of the Shadow Realm, has been released, showcasing an action-packed and chaotic adventure that promises to be a thrilling watch.

The manga has been serialized since December 2021 in Monthly Shonen Gangan magazine. The story follows twins Yuru and Asa, who are destined to command powerful supernatural beings known as Daemons. Separated at birth and unaware of their true heritage, they must battle their way back to each other, reclaim their birthright, and save the world.

With Fullmetal Alchemist being hailed as one of the greatest anime of all time, we’re excited for anything new from Hiromu Arakawa. Daemons of the Shadow Realm is set for two cours and will be available for streaming on Crunchyroll worldwide, premiering on April 4.

In other anime news, Frieren season 2 has tied with its first season for the highest-rated anime of all time, while Jujutsu Kaisen season 3 is currently airing. My Hero Academia has concluded with season 8, but a special episode is set to air on May 2 to celebrate the anime’s 10th anniversary.
