Keke Palmer is just as in the dark about Jordan Peele’s upcoming film.
Director Jordan Peele’s upcoming original horror film was initially slated for release in October 2026, but Universal quietly removed it from their schedule last September. Since then, there has been no word on the project. With the recent release of the Peele-produced film HIM fading into the background, fans are eagerly awaiting news about his fourth directorial effort. However, even some of Peele’s collaborators are uncertain about when he might return to the director’s chair.
In a recent conversation, Keke Palmer, who starred in Peele’s Nope (2022), shared insights about her new show, The ‘Burbs. When asked if she had heard from Peele regarding his next movie, she replied, “I haven’t asked him, but one thing I know about Jordan that’s for sure is he loves the actors he loves. Obviously, he loves Daniel [Kaluuya]. So I feel like, if he loves me, then hopefully we’ll see me in another JP film at some point, whenever he decides to do an original again.”
Nope was Peele’s last project, featuring Palmer and Kaluuya as siblings running a horse ranch in California who encounter an alien presence. The film was both a critical and commercial success, paving the way for Peele’s next venture. He has been working on his fourth feature, described as a “horror thriller,” with an initial release planned for the 2024 holiday season. However, multiple guild strikes pushed the timeline to October 2026, and that schedule now seems uncertain.
In the meantime, Kaluuya is set to produce and star in a live-action Barney movie from Mattel Films and A24, reimagining the beloved purple dinosaur with a modern twist, featuring a script by Ayo Edebiri. Palmer is currently starring in and executive producing a new series adaptation of the 1989 cult classic dark comedy The ‘Burbs, which is set to premiere on February 8 on Peacock.
