In the latest Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase, Square Enix made a notable appearance, but the buzz isn’t just about Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth. The real highlight is the announcement of The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales, an HD-2D action-RPG that impressed with its Switch 2 demo last year, set to launch on June 18, 2026. Plus, it’s getting a premium Collector’s Edition.

The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales will be available on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC. While the demo remains exclusive to Switch 2 for now, the full game will be accessible on all major platforms.

What’s particularly intriguing is that Square Enix is already taking pre-orders for a $230 Collector’s Edition. Typically, such a high-priced collectible is reserved for sequels of well-established franchises, but it seems the demo has generated enough excitement to warrant this.

The Collector’s Edition features a diorama of the fairy character Faie perched on protagonist Elliot’s hat in front of the game’s Door of Time. It also includes a four-disc soundtrack collection and several in-game bonuses that are part of the Digital Deluxe Edition. Of course, it comes with a physical copy of the game for your chosen console, though the Switch 2 version is just a game-key card.

Additionally, Square Enix is offering extra bonuses for players who have save data from other JRPGs like Octopath Traveler 0, Dragon Quest 1 & 2 HD-2D Remake, Bravely Default Flying Fairy HD Remaster, Various Daylife, and Triangle Strategy. As detailed on the official site, this save data will unlock magicite weapon upgrades in The Adventures of Elliot.

Stay tuned for the best JRPGs out there!
