As we anticipate potential remasters of Fallout 3, 4, and New Vegas, it seems Bethesda’s sci-fi RPG, Starfield, is gearing up for a PS5 release. Leaked listings indicate two versions of this space adventure are set to launch in April.

The information comes from a Polish source, which claims that Starfield will hit PS5 on April 7. This source has previously provided accurate details about other game ports, though they did miss the mark on a GTA 6 claim, so take this with a pinch of skepticism. Still, the presence of product details for both standard and premium editions on Sony’s platform adds credibility.

The listings include product numbers and EAN codes, which help track stock as it reaches retailers, while the product numbers are typically for internal reference.

If this turns out to be true, it aligns with earlier rumors suggesting Bethesda was targeting a spring release to coincide with the next DLC drop. While no new expansion has been announced yet, it feels like news is overdue, especially since it’s been a year and a half since Shattered Space launched.

Starfield has been available on Xbox Series X/S and PC since its September 2023 release, and it always seemed likely to join the PlayStation lineup, especially as Microsoft has been open to ports. In a gaming landscape where even Halo isn’t a console exclusive anymore, anything is possible.

Rumors have circulated over the past couple of years. Could this finally be the moment? Anticipation will be high for the next State of Play, as if Bethesda needed any more attention right now.

The lead developer of Skyrim believes Starfield “would be hailed as a monumental achievement” if created by a different studio, but acknowledges that “expectations were significantly higher” with Bethesda at the helm.
