Elden Ring and The Duskbloods seemed like strong contenders to make an appearance during the latest Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase, but with yet another presentation passing without any updates, fans are starting to feel anxious about FromSoftware’s upcoming projects.

Both Elden Ring Tarnished Edition and The Duskbloods were announced for Switch 2 during the major Direct that officially unveiled the console last year. Elden Ring was initially set for release last year, while The Duskbloods was slated for 2026. However, Elden Ring faced a delay last October “to allow time for performance adjustments,” and updates on The Duskbloods have been virtually non-existent since its reveal, aside from a few Creator’s Voice interview snippets.

It’s clear that fans are eager for news, but today’s showcase didn’t deliver, and the community is reacting strongly.

“NO DUSKBLOODS NEWS? I’M FALLING TO MY KNEES IN THE PARKING LOT,” one fan dramatically expressed. Referencing the comparisons made to Bloodborne during its reveal, the saxophone-playing Soulsborne icon Dr. Doot quipped: “Man, Duskbloods really IS Bloodborne 2 (we’re never seeing it).”

“Starting to think Elden Ring on the Nintendo Switch 2 has gone back to the drawing board,” another fan commented, while a concerned player tweeted: “I’m worried about Elden Ring; maybe they’re working on a 60 FPS mode or something. I hope they didn’t cancel it.”

If you’ve checked out any of Nintendo’s tweets from today’s Direct, you might have spotted a particularly passionate advocate for Elden Ring on Switch 2 in the replies. “Where is Elden Ring? god damned!” they posted… 21 times. Unsurprisingly, Nintendo hasn’t responded.

So, while it’s disappointing, it looks like we’re in for a waiting game – let’s hope Nintendo and FromSoftware have some updates for us soon. The Duskbloods didn’t receive a specific release window, so if it’s aiming for a late-year launch, we might be waiting a while longer for any news.

The Duskbloods’ winged rat “elderly gentleman” was actually FromSoftware’s rare attempt at something “Nintendo-esque” and “cute.”
