If you’re looking for a reason to grab another copy of Final Fantasy 7: Rebirth, Nintendo has you covered with an exclusive MTG card included as a bonus in the Switch 2 version.

Similar to last year’s promotion, where Nintendo offered a free MTG Final Fantasy booster pack with FF7 Remake, physical copies of Final Fantasy 7: Rebirth on Switch 2 will come with a limited edition Magic: The Gathering Zack Fair card. While its stats remain unchanged, fans of card games will appreciate the original artwork by JRPG icon Tetsuya Nomura.

In terms of gameplay, Zack Fair retains his classic mechanics; he enters the battlefield with a +1/+1 token and can be sacrificed to grant indestructibility to a target. However, it’s Nomura’s involvement that will likely catch the eye. With decades of experience at Square Enix and a legacy of hits, including Kingdom Hearts, he’s particularly known for his work on the Final Fantasy series, especially FF7. As the lead character designer for the original game and director of both Final Fantasy 7 Remake and Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, this card is a true collectible.

While the exact date for pre-orders of the Switch 2 version hasn’t been announced, the game is set to launch on June 3, 2026. Keep an eye on Amazon and the Nintendo Store for updates. Just a heads up, the card will only be included with physical copies, so digital purchases won’t qualify.

This isn’t the only exciting news from the latest Nintendo Direct; the first Resident Evil amiibo are set to release this summer, and Square Enix unveiled a $230 The Adventures of Elliot Collector’s Edition, suggesting the JRPG’s impressive Switch 2 demo made a strong impact.
