If you’ve been playing Arc Raiders, you might have stumbled upon Cooling Coils but overlooked them since they didn’t seem particularly useful—unless you were salvaging them for springs. Now, however, you need to gather four of these to complete the second stage of your Expedition Project.

Naturally, when you’re on the hunt for a specific item, they can be elusive. But don’t fret; I’ll guide you to the best spots for finding Cooling Coils so you can progress.

Your best bet for finding Cooling Coils is in Industrial areas, where they frequently appear in red lockers, breachable crates, and toolboxes. Personally, I’ve had the most luck searching Dam Battlegrounds:

These locations are packed with the container types you need, so hopefully, you’ll strike gold.

While I prefer scouring Dam Battlegrounds for Cooling Coils, especially the compact Hydroponic Dome Complex, there are also plenty of Industrial zones on the Spaceport map. The Rocket Assembly area has numerous red lockers on both the first and second floors, and it’s just a short walk south to Container Storage and Vehicle Maintenance, which are also Industrial areas.

As mentioned, Cooling Coils aren’t particularly useful outside of the Expedition Project, where you need to deliver four of them. They’re a rare recyclable material, so the only other use is breaking them down for six chemicals and two Steel Springs, or selling them for 1,000 coins. Not exactly a fortune.
