The Super Mario Galaxy Movie is set to expand the universe of 2023’s Super Mario Bros. Movie, introducing a host of new villains, allies, and adventures. A new clip showcases classic foes like the Shy Guys, along with Mario’s dinosaur companion Yoshi, who can capture enemies and transform them into harmless eggs.

Don’t overthink it—just appreciate how adorable (and slightly scary) Yoshi is, and get ready for more beloved elements from the Super Mario video game series to make their cinematic debut, including Shy Guys, Magikoopas, and more.

Check out the new teaser:

The Super Mario Galaxy Movie features Chris Pratt, Anya Taylor-Joy, Charlie Day, Jack Black, Keegan-Michael Key, Benny Safdie, Kevin Michael Richardson, and Brie Larson. It’s penned by Matthew Fogel and directed by returning filmmakers Aaron Horvath and Michael Jelenic.

The 2023 Super Mario Bros. Movie raked in over $1 billion globally, marking it as a massive success. If you’re not familiar with Super Mario Bros., the franchise dates back to the 1985 NES classic. Over the past 40+ years, Mario has evolved into a multimedia phenomenon, spanning numerous games, animated series, live-action films, toys, and more.

The Super Mario Galaxy Movie broadens the animated film series by venturing beyond the Mushroom Kingdom into more distant, cosmic realms of Mario’s universe, presenting new challenges and environments to explore, just like in the games.

The Super Mario Galaxy Movie is set to premiere in theaters on April 1.
