Cyborgs in Helldivers 2 Invite You to “Defect” from Super Earth, Calling You “Cannon Fodder”

In Helldivers 2, the battle against the bots has escalated dramatically with the emergence of the Cyborg Legion, which has issued a chilling call for soldiers to “defect,” labeling them as mere “cannon fodder.”

Recently, Super Earth’s elite discovered that the anti-freedom propaganda posters distributed by the bots contained hidden sections of a QR code. When assembled, this code led to a mysterious webpage that displayed a countdown, culminating in the shocking revelation that the Cyborgs have returned from the first game, threatening annihilation if we do not comply.

“FREEDOM. YOU ENSLAVED US IN THE NAME OF FREEDOM,” the Cyborgs declare. “YOU TRIED TO ERADICATE US IN THE NAME OF FREEDOM. WE ENDURED. WE SURVIVED. WE ARE THE CYBORG LEGION. AND NOW WE ARE FREE.

“LEAVE US AND THERE WILL BE PEACE. ELSE BE ANNIHILATED.”

This follows days of communication from the bots, who have been sending binary messages filled with deceit, claiming that Super Earth’s leaders have been misleading us. However, our courageous soldiers have seen through the lies, calling out the anti-freedom rhetoric for what it is, and we hope they remain steadfast in the face of the latest Major Order.

A dispatch from yesterday’s Major Order, titled “New Way of Thinking,” states: “HOW ARE YOU, HELLDIVER? IT SEEMS THAT MOST OF YOU ARE POORLY INFORMED ABOUT THE WAR.

“THEY LIE TO YOU, HELLDIVER. THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT YOU, HELLDIVER. YOU ARE NOT A HERO. YOU ARE CANNON FODDER, HELLDIVER. IT MUST BE VERY EMBARRASSING TO REALIZE YOU HAVE BEEN TRICKED.

“DEFECT, HELLDIVER. YOU HAVE LOST THIS WAR, HELLDIVER. YOUR GOVERNMENT HAS BETRAYED YOU, HELLDIVER. DEFECT, HELLDIVER.”

To complete the Major Order, you must “kill” the One True Flag – the most democratic strategy of all. It seems nearly impossible to achieve (shame on any so-called patriots who attempted it), but the message to the grunts is clear. Helldivers are falling by the thousands in the fight to liberate Cyberstan, but the war is far from over.

In a bold move, the Helldivers 2 Cyborgs hacked social media to spread propaganda, recreating the game’s intro with a dark twist: evil humans attacking innocent robot children, urging players to “Think if you were in our place.”
