New details on Sony’s upcoming flagship wireless earbuds highlight enhanced active noise cancellation features.

Recently leaked images of Sony’s upcoming WF-1000XM6 earbuds have surfaced, along with detailed specifications and features from a trusted source. These new flagship earbuds will be equipped with a cutting-edge QN3e processor, which is said to be “three times faster” than the one found in the previous WF-1000XM5 model released over two years ago. This enhanced processor promises better active noise cancellation (ANC) performance and introduces two additional microphones, bringing the total to eight.

The WF-1000XM6 will also boast a revamped speaker, an upgraded digital-to-analog converter (DAC), and a more powerful amplifier. In terms of battery life, users can expect up to eight hours of playback with ANC activated, extendable by an additional 16 hours with the charging case, matching the performance of both the WF-1000XM5 and the WF-1000XM4 from 2021.

The design of the WF-1000XM6 has also been refined for improved comfort, featuring “insulated tips” for a better fit. Additionally, when paired with the Sony | Sound Connect app, users will gain enhanced audio control through an upgraded equalizer, now offering 10 adjustable bands instead of five.
