Arc Raiders Team Acknowledges Ongoing Duplication Glitch and Promises Fix is in Progress
A fresh update for Arc Raiders has just dropped, but players are feeling let down as the long-standing duplication glitch remains unresolved. Despite the introduction of a new event and several bug fixes, the developers at Embark are aware of the issue and are “actively working on a fix.”
The latest patch, version 1.15.0, brings the Shared Watch event, running until February 24. This event encourages players to team up against the machines, with the patch notes stating: “Players will earn merits from destroying, assisting, and damaging ARC, but no merits will be earned from PvP encounters. So grab a buddy or a random teammate, and make sure you have enough ammo to catch the machines’ attention first.”
Additionally, the Cold Snap map condition is making a return, and the Trailblazer Grenade is getting some adjustments. Its explosions will no longer damage through walls, and it will now inflict “more damage to smaller enemies but less to larger foes like the Leaper and Bastion.” Some miscellaneous fixes have also been implemented, addressing issues like players being unable to reconnect after disconnecting from a game.
However, the patch notes lack any mention of the duplication glitch, leading to frustration among players. One Reddit user expressed their disappointment, stating, “The patch this week was an absolute travesty with ‘fixes’ for minuscule problems,” and highlighted that the “dupe exploit is being used” to turn Stella Montis into an artillery “practice range.”
Another player chimed in, saying, “The week 1 patch was great, and I thought this game was going to improve,” but now, “one completely game-breaking exploit is being used by 90% of the serious player base.” They added, “Embark is dropping the ball like crazy.”
On social media, the sentiment is echoed, with players demanding a fix for the duplication glitch. Comments like “Fix the duplication glitch! It’s ruining the game,” and “Seriously, no duplication glitch? Lobbies are currently warzones,” are common.
On a positive note, Embark is aware of the duplication issue and is working on a solution, although no timeline has been provided. A message from community lead Ossen on the official Discord stated, “We are aware of the duplication issue and we are actively working on a fix.”
In the latest patch notes, Embark also acknowledged that “some of you have noticed changes in past updates that didn’t make it into the patch notes. Thank you for flagging those and keeping us on our toes!”
The developers added, “We’ve been building ARC Raiders for years, but we’ve only been live for a short while, and we’re still growing into the rhythm (and discipline) of live operations. Making patch notes that are complete, accurate, and easy to follow is a muscle we’re actively training.”
They concluded, “We’re improving our internal process so fewer things slip through, and when something does, your reports help us catch it quickly and update the notes. Please keep letting us know when you spot something missing; it genuinely helps.”
In a light-hearted moment, the Arc Raiders boss mentioned he would “apologize” to Italy’s Stella Montis hotel after it was flooded with reviews from players, saying, “I didn’t know about that. That’s amazing.”
