While we’re only six episodes into Jujutsu Kaisen season 3, the popular shonen anime is taking a short break.

With buzz about a recap episode circulating on social media, the official Jujutsu Kaisen Twitter account confirmed an ‘intermission’ will occur on February 19.

Instead of a new episode, we’ll get a recap featuring ‘newly recorded’ narration—likely summarizing the Culling Game so far, along with the earlier Shibuya Incident arc.

Jujutsu Kaisen will resume its regular schedule on February 26, with episodes airing weekly until the season finale (and conclusion of the first part of the Culling Game arc) on March 26.

It’s unfortunate, especially since Jujutsu Kaisen season 3 was gaining momentum. This follows a two-episode premiere that many dedicated fans probably caught in the Jujutsu Kaisen: Execution compilation film, and a slow-paced episode that painstakingly detailed the Culling Game rules.

Fortunately, a three-minute chibi recap was later released, making the whole idea much more enjoyable.

Jujutsu Kaisen isn’t the only major series facing a disappointingly short season in the winter 2026 lineup. Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End season 2 is set for only 10 episodes, a significant drop from the first season’s 28 episodes.
