After leaving the No Man’s Sky community buzzing with cryptic teaser posts featuring nothing but safety vest emojis, Hello Games’ Sean Murray has finally revealed a massive new update for the 2016 survival classic: Remnant.

It’s been an exhilarating few days for No Man’s Sky fans. Following Murray’s mysterious hi-vis vest posts on Twitter, speculation ran wild about their meaning. Was it related to Light No Fire and its development? Nope – it turns out we’re getting a substantial No Man’s Sky update after all. The standout feature? A gravity gun that brings back memories of Garry’s Mod and its physics-based antics.

Dubbed the Gravitino Coil, this powerful new anti-gravity module for your multi-tool lets you lift hefty objects and toss them around as if they were featherlight – or, if you prefer, you can handle them with care, though that’s arguably less exciting. There’s more in store, too. You can now recycle debris from planets and transport it to Waste Processing Plants for “rare and highly prized resources,” as Murray describes.

This update also introduces new trucks, tipping flatbeds, and haulers to streamline resource transport to industrial yards. While you can salvage solo, teaming up with friends is encouraged – just remember to keep those OSHA regulations in mind (safety vests and all, as hinted by Murray’s recent posts).

The gameplay loop is thrilling – exploring wrecks, loading cargo trucks, and collecting that loot.

However, transporting resources can be tricky. You’ll need to be cautious with the scrap you gather, as overloading is always a risk (no, you can’t just add one more item, folks). As for the gravity gun, when you’re not using it for moving objects, it can double as a weapon. Grab a sentinel or something hefty, and voilà – you’ve got yourself some makeshift projectiles.

The Remnant update doesn’t just stop at haulers and trucks. New customization options allow you to build everything from a “spider-legged sci-fi explorer” – essentially a spider mech – to “heavily armed military vehicles with tank tracks.” There’s a lot to explore, and with dozens of new vehicle parts, the creative possibilities are endless. The best part? The new No Man’s Sky update is available today.

So, grab your gravity guns and start crafting those spider mechs – there’s scrap to salvage for rewards and an almost limitless number of planets to explore with your friends.
