A sequel to In a Violent Nature is on the way, and this time, Johnny is heading to summer camp.
The original film, crafted by Chris Nash, is told from the perspective of a masked undead killer named Johnny (Ry Barrett) as he stalks a group of teens, one of whom inadvertently unleashed his spirit. It’s reminiscent of Friday the 13th, but with a level of horror that Jason Voorhees could only dream of.
According to reports, the sequel follows Johnny as he arrives at a summer camp where he encounters a young outcast camper who must spend the night with his counselor sister and her friends during their end-of-season party. The new cast features Lucas Nguyen, Olivia Scriven, Laurie Babin, Donald MacLean Jr., Evan Marsh, and Fionn Laird from The Institute.
In a Violent Nature turned out to be an unexpected box office success, raking in an impressive $4 million globally against a budget of just under $500,000. Interestingly, the film holds a 79% critic score but a lower 44% audience rating, which aligns with reports of viewers being so disturbed by certain scenes that they left the theater.
In a Violent Nature 2 currently does not have a release date. For more, stay tuned for updates on the most exciting upcoming horror films or check out our list of movie release dates.
