The next season of Battlefield 6 is just around the corner, and we’ve got the scoop on what’s coming. Expect two new maps and a couple of limited-time modes, with progression tweaks designed to enhance your gaming experience.

One of the new maps, Contaminated, is set to debut in Season 2. It promises intense combat with various pathways and flanking options, making for a tactical experience.

The first new limited mode is still under wraps, but it aims to expand the narrative and introduce fresh tactical elements in the battle against Pax Armata. Exciting stuff! While details on the second map and mode are scarce, the former is described as “high intensity,” and the latter will challenge players to navigate a dark underground base.

The Battle Pass is getting a revamp to be “more rewarding,” allowing for quicker rank progression. Challenges will be streamlined, reducing mode-specific hurdles, removing sidearm challenges, and counting assists towards daily objectives, making it easier to earn rewards.

Expect adjustments to weapon balancing and player movement, along with enhancements for clearer audio during combat. EA and the developers at Battlefield Studios have also shared updates on the revamped Golmud Railway map, originally from Battlefield 4, which is being reworked for this game. Early player feedback has been positive, noting that the map retains its familiar feel while introducing new elements, including improvements to the northern town area and additional cover for infantry engagements.

Golmud Railway will be available in a later season, but for now, mark your calendars: Battlefield 6 Season 2 kicks off on February 17.

Battlefield 6 was the top-selling game in the US for 2025, finally taking the crown from Call of Duty after a 23-year rivalry between these iconic shooters.
