Battlefield 6 Season 2 Reintroduces Beloved Vehicle
Battlefield 6 is shaping up to be a thematic successor to Battlefield 3 and 4, and while it captures that spirit in many ways, players felt a key element was missing at launch: the Little Bird helicopter. Good news for fans, as the AH-6 Little Bird is set to make its comeback at the start of Season 2 on Tuesday, Feb. 17. “The AH-6 Little Bird is returning and will be available across various maps,” a representative shared during a press presentation for Season 2. “We can’t wait to see the chaos you skilled pilots will unleash with it.” Initially, the Little Bird was part of Battlefield 6’s Portal mode at launch but was removed shortly after. In addition to the Little Bird, Season 2 will introduce a brand-new map called Contaminated, located at an airbase nestled at the base of a German mountain range. This map is described as being “between the sizes of Eastwood and Mirak Valley,” and it draws comparisons to classic Battlefield maps like St. Quentin Scar or Arras. The visuals are striking, featuring a clear blue sky and lush greenery. On the gameplay front, a new limited-time mode called VL-7 Strike will incorporate hallucinogenic gas at various spots on the map. Players can don gas masks to counteract the “visual and auditory hallucinogenic effects,” as the gas can put you and your squad at a significant disadvantage. These updates, along with four new weapons, two new gadgets, and two limited-time modes, are part of the “Extreme Measures” phase of Season 2. This will transition into “Nightfall” on Tuesday, Mar. 17, which will introduce another new map, Hagental Base. Set in the same mountain range as Contaminated, this map features a “subterranean structure” for intense firefights or stealthy ambushes. A “remixed version” of Hagental Base will also be available during this phase, where much of the map will be shrouded in darkness. “Precision, caution, and strategy are vital to survival,” and players will have access to night vision goggles, though they can be countered by weapon-mounted flashlights. Nightfall will also be featured in the Gauntlet mode on the same map, and a dirt bike will be introduced across Battlefield 6, promising some thrilling stunts and highlights. Finally, on Tuesday, Apr. 14, the third phase of Season 2, titled “Hunter/Prey,” will kick off. The highlight of this phase is Operation Augur, inspired by the Operations mode from Battlefield 1. This operation will focus on both Contaminated and Hagental Base, where NATO forces will advance on the underground structure using VL-7 gas. Battlefield Studios has hinted that more content is on the way throughout Season 2, though some details remain under wraps.
