A24 has just released a chilling teaser for their upcoming supernatural horror film, Undertone, and I’m already on edge. The short clip showcases a series of unsettling, grainy faces that flicker in and out, accompanied by a cacophony of panicked whispers played in reverse. The teaser’s caption reads, “The sound of your fear,” cleverly spelled backward. Undertone follows Evy (Nina Kiri), a skeptic who co-hosts a paranormal podcast with her believer friend Justin (Adam DiMarco). After returning home to care for her ailing mother (Michele Duquet), she begins receiving recordings from a couple convinced their house is haunted, leading to a cascade of terrifying events. Notably, Evy is the only character seen on screen, with all the horror unfolding off-camera, ensuring this film will haunt my dreams for a long time. raef ruoy fo dnuos eht pic.twitter.com/jBonvvaypwFebruary 12, 2026 Written and directed by Ian Tuason, who is also set to direct Paranormal Activity 8, Undertone has drawn comparisons to the Paranormal Activity series in early reviews, with many calling it one of the scariest films they’ve ever experienced. It currently boasts an 88% Fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Having premiered at the Fantasia International Film Festival in July 2025, Undertone is scheduled to hit theaters on March 13.
