Rayman 30th Anniversary Edition Launches Tomorrow with Exciting Bonus Features!

Ubisoft has revealed a special 30th anniversary edition of the beloved 1995 classic, Rayman, during the PlayStation State of Play event, and it’s set to launch tomorrow, February 13.

Instead of opting for a remaster or remake, Ubisoft is bringing back the iconic 2D platformer in its original form, complete with a host of bonus features and an interactive documentary. This release is akin to a Criterion Collection edition for video games, crafted by a studio renowned for its meticulously researched compilations and special editions, such as Atari 50 and Tetris Forever.

Rayman: 30th Anniversary Edition features five versions of the original adventure starring the limbless hero with his helicopter hair: the classic PlayStation version, along with MS-DOS, Atari Jaguar, Game Boy Color, and Game Boy Advance editions. For the first time, players can also access the long-lost SNES prototype. Additionally, there are 120 new levels spread across three level packs: Rayman’s New Levels, Rayman 60 Levels, and Rayman By His Fans.

To make the old-school platforming experience a bit more forgiving, the game includes a rewind feature, multiple save slots, and accessibility options like infinite lives and instant level unlocks. The soundtrack has received a modern touch, featuring a “faithfully reimagined” score by Rayman Origins composer Christophe Héral.

The interactive documentary offers 50 minutes of fresh interviews with the original developers, along with concept art, design documents, and more.

Rayman: 30th Anniversary Edition is priced at $19.99 and will be available tomorrow on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, Windows PC, and Xbox Series X.
