Silent Hill: Townfall Gameplay Unveils Unimaginable Nightmares

For the first time since its teaser trailer dropped in 2022, players are getting an exciting glimpse into Silent Hill: Townfall. This spin-off is the final entry in the five Silent Hill projects announced back in 2022, which also include the Silent Hill 2 remake, Silent Hill f, the interactive streaming series Silent Hill: Ascension, and the recently released film Return to Silent Hill.

Unveiled during a recent State of Play, the new trailer picks up where the original teaser left off, featuring a crackling radio on a desk. A man in glasses, intriguingly connected to an IV drip, picks it up.

“Simon, listen to me,” a female voice crackles through the radio. “You can’t stay in this room forever. I can’t stay in this room forever. I know this is going to be hard, but you have to come back to me.”

Simon then finds himself waking up in a foggy town, pulling himself from a lake or river, muttering that he “woke up in the water again.”

A nearby sign indicates he’s in St. Amelia. Another door sign reads, “Nothing we can do until help arrives, please stay safe.” The town is strewn with protest signs and hints of social unrest, and the female voice returns, reminding Simon that he “did what he did.”

The trailer also showcases the first look at Townfall’s gameplay. Combat is in first-person perspective, where Simon uses his radio to locate enemies and fights them off with a plank of wood, later switching to a pistol.

Developed by Screen Burn, the team behind Observation, Silent Hill: Townfall is set to launch on PS5 and PC in 2026, though a specific release date hasn’t been revealed yet. Players can currently wishlist the game on Steam. It looks like Konami is keeping its promise to deliver a new Silent Hill title each year, with more details on Townfall expected to emerge during the Silent Hill Transmission right after the State of Play concludes.
