Metal Gear Solid 4 is set to break free from its PS3 exclusivity.

Konami revealed a lineup of new titles during the latest PlayStation State of Play stream, with a standout being Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Volume 2. This collection will feature ports of both Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots and Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker, set to release on August 27.

While game ports are common these days, Master Collection 2 holds particular significance. Metal Gear Solid 4, which debuted on PlayStation 3, has never been available on any other console, making this release noteworthy, especially given the challenges of running PS3 titles on modern systems. In contrast, Peace Walker originally launched on the PSP and was previously remastered in HD as part of the Metal Gear Solid HD Collection, though that should not be confused with this Master Collection.

This new volume follows 2023’s Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Volume 1, which included the original Metal Gear games along with the first three Metal Gear Solid titles. Volume 2 is somewhat lighter, featuring just two games and notably omitting Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain.

To mark the occasion, Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater is currently available for $35 on Steam. Konami also showcased several other titles during the stream, including Silent Hill Townfall and a new Castlevania game from Motion Twin.

Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Volume 2 is set to launch on August 27.
