Claiming the top spot on the movie charts this week is last year’s live-action remake of the animated classic. In Dean DeBlois’s film, we meet Hiccup Horrendous Haddock III (Mason Thames), the chieftain’s teenage son, who faces ridicule for his physical frailty. An inventive spirit, Hiccup creates gadgets to fend off dragons and manages to shoot down a Night Fury, forming an unexpected bond with the creature he names “Toothless.” Together, these two misfits may be the only hope against a more formidable foe, the Red Death.
