You can finish Avowed in a flash if you choose, but that’s just scratching the surface. As an action RPG set in an open world, you can either rush through the main storyline or take your time to explore every nook and cranny. While the world maps are smaller compared to some other titles, there’s still a wealth of side activities to dive into. Here’s a breakdown of how long it might take to complete Avowed based on your playstyle.

Since Avowed features side quests and an expansive world to explore, the time it takes to finish the game largely depends on how much you engage with the main quest and additional content. Here’s my estimate based on different approaches:

If you’re eager to speedrun the game, keep in mind that upgrading your gear is crucial in Avowed, making side quests quite valuable. Focusing solely on the main quest could leave you underpowered, increasing the challenge. If you play on the easiest difficulty, you could potentially wrap up the game in under 25 hours, and possibly even under 20 hours if you’re particularly swift.

For a more typical playthrough, expect to spend around 30 hours if you’re tackling side quests, hunting for loot, and bonding with your companions. If you aim for 100% completion, you might find yourself investing over 40 hours. The author of our review dedicated about 70 hours to explore everything in The Living Lands, but it can definitely be done in less time, especially with our handy tips and tricks!
