Skeleton Crew may be gearing up for a second season, according to a recent listing.

As reported by an industry update source, Skeleton Crew season 2 is ‘in development.’

While this doesn’t guarantee that filming will start soon—or at all—it does spark new hope for one of the more underrated projects from a galaxy far, far away in recent years.

The 2024 Disney Plus series features Jude Law’s Jod Na Nawood as he encounters a group of children lost in space. Together, they embark on a Goonies-style adventure filled with twists, turns, and plenty of pirates.

Despite receiving a positive response from fans and critics, Skeleton Crew didn’t make it into the Nielsen top 10 for streaming upon its release. The first two episodes racked up 382 million minutes viewed in their debut week, marking the lowest for any live-action Star Wars series to date.

Skeleton Crew co-creator Christopher Ford hinted that they have plans for a second season while also considering the challenges faced by the Stranger Things cast as they aged out of their roles.

“We definitely have a concept for a second season and know where we want to take it,” Ford shared. “We have a built-in ticking clock with the kids and their ages, and by the time we get production rolling, we’ll know how old they’ll be. So, we’ll be writing with that in mind.”

Even without Skeleton Crew, there’s a wealth of Star Wars content on the way. Ahsoka season 2 is in the works, while The Mandalorian and Grogu, along with Star Wars: Starfighter, are set to hit theaters in May 2026 and May 2027, respectively.
