I tend to stick to my favorites when hunting for the best gaming monitors during sales. This might explain why, even after publishing my review of the KTC 27P6 nearly two years ago, I still keep an eye out for price drops on this 1440p 240Hz display. This year’s Presidents Day Sales have finally delivered the discount I was waiting for.
While OLED displays often come with a hefty price tag, you can snag KTC’s QHD screen for $449.98 ahead of Presidents Day, which is a solid 22% off its $579.99 MSRP. The brand may not be a household name, but it’s behind many screens on the market, and this model features the same LG OLED panel found in pricier options like the Dough Spectrum Black 27 and the Corsair Xeneon 27QHD240, which used to retail for around $1,000.
KTC 27-inch OLED QHD gaming monitor | $579.99 $449.98 at Amazon Save $130 – The KTC G27P6 surprised us during testing, especially coming from a lesser-known brand. After using the OLED display with our PS5, it was clear that this LG panel delivers exceptional value. Now priced just under $450, it’s at a record low.
With the price back under $450 for Presidents Day, this QHD 240Hz monitor stands out as one of the best value options available. It not only features the same LG panel as more expensive models but also includes handy features like built-in speakers, making it a great fit for both PC and console setups.

New monitors are constantly hitting the market, but I still recommend KTC’s OLED screen to friends and readers. In my testing, it proved to be just as responsive as some of the pricier models. While it has a slightly lower 240Hz refresh rate compared to the 360Hz Samsung Odyssey OLED G6 and the ultra-fast 480Hz Sony Inzone M10S, it still performs admirably in competitive Overwatch sessions.
The G27P6 isn’t just for FPS games; if you have a mid-range gaming PC, it’s a solid QHD choice that syncs well with the frame rates you’ll achieve. Sure, 4K displays offer more pixels, but if you’re looking at 27 inches, I’d recommend opting for a 1440p OLED over a higher resolution IPS display at this size. The vibrancy and contrast will enhance your gaming experience, especially with ultra settings and ray tracing effects.
That said, if there’s a slight drawback to KTC’s screen, it’s the HDR performance. While Night City’s neon lights look stunning on this QHD monitor, I noticed that the HDR effects in Cyberpunk 2077 aren’t as striking compared to other displays using the same LG panel. You might not notice unless you’ve compared different models side by side, but I’m here to provide that insight.
Many of you eyeing this KTC monitor likely have Steam backlogs or specific FPS games in mind. However, I want to point out that I’ve also used this display with some of the best retro consoles, and it handles upscaled visuals beautifully. While I won’t claim it outperforms a CRT, especially when using add-ons like an OSSC or other HDMI upscalers, the vibrancy really makes classic games shine, particularly with a high-quality RGB signal from something like the PS1.
With RAM prices soaring and other components like graphics cards remaining pricey due to AI, now is a great time to consider monitors like the KTC 27P6. You might be surprised at how much a solid mid-range OLED can enhance your gaming visuals. While the PC gaming community often focuses on higher frame rates and resolutions, sometimes improving color and contrast can significantly elevate your experience.
