Call up your buddy and streamer Michael “Shroud” Grzesiek, because he’s been proven right—Arc Raiders has officially snagged a Game of the Year award.
Earlier this year, Shroud voiced his concerns about Arc Raiders, which launched on October 30, 2025, feeling it didn’t have enough time to compete against the award-winning Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. He mentioned in a January stream, “There’s just not enough time – three weeks, four weeks is not enough time to process how good a game actually is.” However, now that Arc Raiders has had time to breathe, it has been honored with the Online Game of the Year award at the annual DICE Awards.
Expedition 33 also took home another Game of the Year award, along with accolades for Outstanding Achievement in Game Direction, Role-Playing Game of the Year, Outstanding Achievement in Story, and Outstanding Achievement in Art Direction—but we’ll let Shroud find out about that on his own. The key takeaway is that Arc Raiders is a champion.
“We are honored to see ARC Raiders has been selected as the Online Game of the Year by panelists of the prestigious D.I.C.E. Awards,” said Junghun Lee, CEO of Nexon, the parent company of developer Embark Studios, in a press release. “For Nexon and Embark Studios, having our game recognized on a global stage is a truly meaningful milestone.”
Patrick Söderlund, founder and CEO of Embark, added, “On behalf of the entire team at Embark, we’re incredibly honored to be recognized by our peers, especially in a year with so many deserving games.” He expressed gratitude to the team for their dedication and to the community for their support, stating, “This is just the beginning.” Here’s hoping it is.
“‘You have no idea what you’ve built'”: The lead of Arc Raiders shared that a “prominent professor in neurology” encouraged him to submit the extraction shooter to science.
