Recent reports suggest that the PS6 may be delayed until 2028 or 2029, while the Switch 2 could see a price increase from its current $450 tag.

If the PS6 does indeed launch in 2029, it would mark the longest console generation gap in PlayStation history, surpassing the 9-year span of the PS5. This would extend its lifecycle to rival that of the Xbox 360 and PS3, which were similarly prolonged due to a global recession. However, another leak hints that the PS6 could arrive as early as 2028 and potentially outperform the PS5 Pro.

A price hike for the Switch 2 wouldn’t be ideal for Nintendo, especially after last year’s backlash over the console and Mario Kart World pricing. Still, the handheld’s strong legacy might help it weather the storm of increased costs.
