In Mewgenics, there’s a treasure trove of unique items to collect, ranging from an Anarchist Cookbook to a necromantic Kandarian dagger, and even a helmet crafted from a dinosaur skull. Most items clearly state their functions, but the Fancy Bow is a bit of a mystery—it’s labeled as fancy, but that’s about it.
The catch is that this info comes from Tink, who isn’t exactly the most reliable source. Until you discover its purpose, the Fancy Bow will just take up space in your limited storage.
You’ll receive the Fancy Bow after donating a kitten to Tink for the first time, so it’s an early acquisition. When he gives it to you, Tink emphasizes that it’s not useful at the moment and advises you not to lose it.
If you happen to misplace it, it seems there’s no way to retrieve it. So, seriously, don’t let it slip away.
The Fancy Bow doesn’t appear to have any practical use—Robin Valentine has nearly completed all the main quests, and it hasn’t played a role in any of them. There’s speculation that it might be part of a complete Fancy gear set, which could explain Tink’s insistence on keeping it, but so far, there’s no evidence to support that.
Most likely, the Fancy Bow is simply a cosmetic item for your cats. It’s easy to obtain, and it wouldn’t be surprising if Tink was just pulling a fast one on you for a kitten.
I’ll keep this guide updated if a use for the Fancy Bow is discovered, so it’s wise to hold onto it in your stash. Remember, you can expand your storage by donating cats to Butch, so it shouldn’t be too much of a hassle.
