While we wait for the Super Mario Galaxy movie to hit theaters, pre-orders for merchandise have already begun, and Yoshi fans are in for a treat.
As the Super Mario Galaxy movie marks Yoshi’s big screen debut (if we overlook the 1993 film), there’s a plethora of Yoshi-themed toys on the way. The standout item is the Hatchin’ Yoshi Interactive Toy, priced at £59.99, inspired by the popular Hatchimals but with a Super Mario twist. Just like in the games, this interactive Yoshi hatches from a speckled egg, which can later serve as a display for the beloved green dinosaur.
The collectible fun doesn’t stop there. You can also find a Yoshi Egg Playset, along with plushies of Mario, Luigi, and Princess Peach, plus action figures of Bowser Jr. and Princess Rosalina. Retailers have announced that Yoshi and friends will be available starting February 20. You’ll have plenty of time to save up for the adorable Hatchin’ Yoshi, which is set to release on the same day as the movie, April 1, 2026.
The Hatchin’ Yoshi Interactive Toy features a talking Yoshi that hatches from its egg. Once free, this charming dino can express over 50 sounds and phrases, interacting with various sounds and movements, reminiscent of a Super Mario-themed Furby, but cuter. UK price: £59.99.
The Super Mario Galaxy Movie – Yoshi Egg Playset is priced at $29.97. This cute 9-inch Yoshi egg opens to reveal a double-sided playset, featuring a museum with a dinosaur skeleton on one side and a warp pipe leading to the Dry Outpost on the other. UK price: $29.99.
The Super Mario Galaxy Movie – 5 Inch Action Figure Series includes a Yoshi figure for $19.97, featuring 20 points of articulation and accessories like a New York City hat and sunglasses. The Mario figure comes with a Luma accessory. Prices: Mario – $19.97, Bowser Jr. – $29.97, UK – £19.99.
The Super Mario Galaxy Movie – 9 Inch Plush Figure of Mario is available for $14.97, along with plushies of Luigi and Princess Peach, all featuring soft bodies and hard plastic heads. Prices: Luigi – $14.97, Princess Peach – $14.97.
The Super Mario Galaxy Movie also includes spring-loaded star launcher toys for $6.97, allowing you to launch your favorite characters through space, just like in the game. Characters include Mario, Luigi, Yoshi, Princess Peach, Bowser Jr., and Wonder Bowser Jr. Prices: Wonder Bowser Jr. – $6.97, Mario – $6.97, UK – £6.99.
Currently, the Super Mario Galaxy Movie merchandise is available at select retailers, but expect it to expand to more stores as the release date approaches.
Availability for pre-orders may vary by location. The Hatchin’ Yoshi Interactive Toy Egg is available for pre-order in the UK, but it hasn’t appeared at US retailers yet. I’ll keep you updated as more pre-orders become available.
