Game Tech has unveiled a new accessory for the Switch 2 that allows players to use two Joy-Cons with one hand. This innovative accessory consists of two controller covers that attach to the Joy-Cons and can be secured together with a plastic clasp.
According to a translation from Google Japan, this one-handed grip is designed for those who may struggle to use one hand due to health issues or simply want to multitask while gaming, like snacking or browsing apps—definitely relatable!
While this isn’t Game Tech’s first one-handed grip, it’s the first designed for the Nintendo Switch 2. Originally discovered by an outlet, Game Tech also shared a YouTube video demonstrating the grip in action. The clasp functions like a hinge, keeping both Joy-Con controllers at an angle that allows for simultaneous use of both sticks and buttons, which would be quite challenging otherwise.
As per Game Tech’s website, this grip enables all buttons to be accessed with one hand, including tricky combinations like ZR+B and ZL+X. Plus, it features three adjustable levels to customize the grip for better control, and it works with Joy-Con mouse controls as well.
As someone with a chronic illness affecting my hand joints, this accessory is a game changer. While I can use both hands, my pain levels vary, making even the best Nintendo Switch 2 controllers uncomfortable at times. I can easily see how this one-handed grip could be a lifesaver. It’s unfortunate that a third-party brand had to step in to create something that enhances accessibility for many players, especially since Game Tech clarifies that it’s “not a medical device.” I had hoped Nintendo would introduce an accessibility-focused controller for the Switch 2, similar to the PlayStation Access and Xbox Adaptive controllers, which would have been a great option, even if they come with a hefty price tag.
For now, you can snag the one-handed grip from Game Tech for 2,750 yen on their official website. It has been available since February 12, 2026, but keep in mind that the site is in Japanese, so you may need a Japanese address or a proxy ordering service to get one.
