In Avowed, you’ll face a pivotal choice during the Message from Afar quest: will you assist The Voice or turn down their offer? As you search for the Aedyran Ambassador and investigate the Strangleroot, The Voice will reach out, offering their healing powers in exchange for a favor. But is it worth it? Here’s what you need to know about the consequences of your decision.

After defeating the Dreamthrall Elder Brown Bear and speaking with Ambassador Falscen Hylgard, you’ll be prompted to examine the Adra Pillar, allowing you to connect with The Voice that has been guiding you since Fort Northreach. Discuss the spreading sickness and inquire about the Strangleroot, leading to The Voice’s proposition of a “favor for a favor.” You can choose to accept or decline this deal.

From my experience, I suggest agreeing to help The Voice, as it offers significant advantages, which I’ll detail below.

Regardless of your choice, the vines blocking your path will clear, allowing you to continue the storyline. You’ll also gain a new Godlike Ability, which varies based on your dialogue choice:

Accepting Godlike’s Will grants you an extra Ability Point for character upgrades, while the Dream Touch ability proves more advantageous in the long run. It allows you to heal and revive allies during combat, providing crucial support in tough battles, and it inflicts damage over time on certain enemies. Additionally, if you accept The Voice’s help, you’ll unlock an extra dialogue option when interacting with injured NPCs, enabling you to heal them using your Godlike powers instead of consuming a Health Potion.

In summary, agreeing to assist The Voice is highly beneficial, and I’ve found no drawbacks to accepting their offer.
