Karl Urban, star of The Boys, has emphasized that the final season is packed with danger and significant character deaths.

“Every season – but especially this one – from the very first episode, you’re like, ‘Oh, wow,'” Urban, who portrays the outspoken Billy Butcher, shared. “Nobody is safe; fatalities start right away.”

The Boys season 5 premieres on Prime Video on April 8, featuring a teaser trailer released in December 2025 that showcases Homelander at his most menacing, the return of Jensen Ackles’ Soldier Boy, and, of course, plenty of bloodshed.

“Even if I have to drag your broken fucking carcasses over the finish line, we are all going all the way, no matter the cost. ‘Til the job’s fucking done,” Butcher growls in the trailer, highlighting the gravity of a situation where Homelander has become deeply entrenched in the White House.

Season 5 will pick up about six months after the conclusion of Gen V season 2, according to showrunner Eric Kripke, revealing that only two of the Odessa experiments – Homelander and Marie – have survived. Expect a lot of death and chaos.

Good thing Karl Urban is on board. The actor is also set to play washed-up movie star Johnny Cage in Mortal Kombat 2, hitting theaters on May 8, 2026.
