Battlefield 6 Season 2 has finally launched, and producer Phil Girette believes it’s not only the strongest season yet but also sets a new standard for the future, aiming to compensate for the delays that affected the game’s initial launch.

Originally scheduled for last month, Season 2 was delayed as Season 1 was extended to allow for further development based on community feedback. In a recent chat, Girette expressed satisfaction with the smooth launch of Battlefield 6 but acknowledged that the extension disrupted the momentum.

He noted, “Going into Season 1, a lot of players were engaged, but the extension broke that pace,” even if the extra time was necessary for refining Season 2.

“Season 2 is definitely more expansive than Season 1,” he stated. “We have new maps that we believe will be strong, additional gameplay mechanics, and fan-favorite vehicles like the Little Bird returning. Plus, there’s a new addition in REDSEC.”

While Girette pondered the existence of “the perfect Battlefield season,” he emphasized, “Everyone agreed that this is really strong. We want to use Season 2 as a foundation moving forward – this is the benchmark we aim to achieve. We hope players feel the same; I believe this will be our best season yet.”

Additionally, while Battlefield 6 fans are requesting larger maps, Girette acknowledged that “maps are one of the most time-consuming elements to create,” indicating that more time will be needed to address that feedback.

As Battlefield 6 faces competition from Arc Raiders following the Season 2 delay, the team is committed to avoiding further setbacks: “We need to ensure everything hits as expected.”
