Stunning Pixel Art Cyberpunk Game Replaced Postponed Following Steam Demo Reactions
The anticipation for Replaced was nearly at its peak, but there’s been a shift. The stunning pixel art action platformer’s launch, originally set for March, has been delayed after the developers took in feedback from a recent Steam demo. “The response to our Steam demo has been the ultimate fuel for us,” noted Sad Cat Studios on Wednesday.
“As a small team working on our very first title, we’ve poured everything we have into this project,” the studio shared. “While the game is technically finished, this final stretch has revealed that we need a few more weeks to ensure the experience meets your expectations. We want the version of Replaced you play on day one to be polished, stable, and true to the vision we’ve shared with you. Instead of March 12, the Game Pass release will now be on April 14.
Replaced started its journey back in 2018, was unveiled at E3 2021, and initially aimed for a 2022 launch. Ambitious goals and external factors like the Russia-Ukraine conflict derailed those plans. After waiting an additional four years, what’s one more month?
The action-adventure’s Steam demo has received generally positive reviews. Players have praised the 2.5D art, cinematics, and overall atmosphere. However, some feedback suggests that the combat may feel a bit repetitive and lacking depth compared to the game’s impressive visuals. If this feedback holds true, it wouldn’t be entirely unexpected for a title of this nature.
Yet, sometimes style and atmosphere can carry a game. Here’s hoping that holds true for Replaced.
