Honor Adventure Time’s iconic love story with a special Pride Month comic.

The vibrant world of Ooo is always buzzing with excitement, and this June, fans of Adventure Time are in for a special treat. The Adventure Time Pride Special: PB & MARCY’S INFINITE MIXTAPE #1 is a 40-page celebration for Pride Month, marking the first comic dedicated to the beloved animated series and spotlighting the fan-favorite couple, Princess Bubblegum and Marceline the Vampire Queen.

Their relationship was officially confirmed during the series finale, “Come Along With Me,” and since then, the Bubbline excitement has been palpable, with spin-off comics exploring their journey together.

This latest installment is crafted by Rosie Knight, known for Godzilla: Monster Island Summer Camp, with art by Evgenia Vereli, who has worked on Joan Jett & The Blackhearts 40×40. In this Pride special, Marceline and Princess Bubblegum commemorate their anniversary by unveiling a never-before-heard mixtape.

Knight expressed her enthusiasm, stating, “Adventure Time has been a cornerstone of my life, friendships, and love for animation since I first caught an episode on Cartoon Network and fell in love with Finn, Jake, BMO, and the rest of the Land of Ooo. Writing a story in this universe, enriched by so many amazing creators, is a dream come true. It’s an absolute honor to focus an entire issue on Marceline and Princess Bubblegum, especially alongside the talented Evgenia, who brings romance and drama to life with her stunning art.”

She also highlighted that the comic goes beyond just a new adventure for the couple: “One of the most thrilling aspects of this story is that we get to contribute to one of my favorite elements of Adventure Time canon: the music. This comic is titled MARCY and PB’S INFINITE MIXTAPE for a reason—you’ll get to see the girls writing and performing NEW SONGS!”

Additionally, the comic features special covers from artists Chan, Jaki King, and Mary Ainza.

The relationship between Princess Bubblegum and Marceline stands as a cherished example of queer representation in animation, making the series a landmark for LGBTQ+ inclusion. This new comic promises to be a delightful experience for fans eager to reconnect with these iconic characters.

Adventure Time Pride Special: PB & MARCY’S INFINITE MIXTAPE will be available for $4.99 at local comic shops.
