Locating Terminals and Tagged Containers for Marathon’s Protect/Destroy 4 Mission

MIDA’s Protect/Destroy 4 quest in Outpost throws you into one of the trickiest maps in the game. You won’t have much time to explore, which can be a real challenge when you need to locate terminal spots and scan tagged containers in three different areas. Plus, with only 20 minutes on the clock to finish all tasks and extract, every second counts.

But fear not! While I can’t guarantee you won’t get ambushed, knowing where to look will help you breeze through Protect/Destroy 4.

Start your journey at the red terminal on the second floor of the Processing building, located on the northwest side where the conveyor belts are. This terminal is hidden away in a dark corner next to a conveyor belt, not in the control room as you might expect.

Next, you’ll need to scan four containers marked with graffiti in Airfield. Be cautious, as this area is often swarming with UESC bots and other players, given that it’s a spawn and extraction point.

Watch out for the Heat Cascade mechanic! If the ground is too hot, wait for it to cool down before scanning the tagged containers in the loading bay north of the hangars to avoid taking damage.

After that, head to the second-floor data archive room in the north of Flight Control to find another terminal. It’s a red computer surrounded by blue server boxes near the large windows.

Remember, you must extract alive to complete Protect/Destroy 4, even though there’s no quest item to bring back. Outpost is unique because it lacks standard crew extraction sites, so you’ll need to either brave the Pinwheel (which is risky) or opt for the guarded extraction point (a bit safer). If you fail to extract alive, you’ll have to restart the quest, regardless of whether you found the final terminal or not.
