Stranger Things Returns to Theaters for a Limited Engagement
Stranger Things may have wrapped up its series finale in 2026, but the adventure continues with an animated spinoff set to launch in April. Fans will have the opportunity to catch an early screening in theaters before it hits Netflix.
The first two episodes of Stranger Things: Tales from ’85 will be shown in select theaters on Saturday, April 18. A total of 34 locations across the U.S. will host these screenings, with tickets going on sale Wednesday at 11 a.m. EDT. Check with your local theater chain for details on where to grab your tickets.
Set between seasons 2 and 3, Tales from ’85 brings back familiar faces like Eleven, Mike, Lucas, Max, and Hopper, though they will be voiced by a different cast. Newcomer Odessa A’zion joins the lineup as Nikki Baxter, a character who promises to shake things up. According to showrunner Eric Robles, “Nikki provides a fresh new perspective on the status quo, shaking up dynamics and points-of-view. And perhaps even more importantly, she brings us — and the rest of the Stranger Things crew — an exciting, fresh roster of danger and monsters unlike anything our kids have ever faced before.”
Taking place during a winter in Hawkins, the story follows the kids as they try to return to a semblance of normalcy, only to be confronted by new threats from the Upside Down. One of these menacing creatures is a toothy monster that looks like a jack-o’-lantern. Yikes!
If you miss the theatrical release of Stranger Things: Tales from ’85, don’t worry; the animated series will be available on Netflix starting April 23.
