Completing Abyss Without Balance serves as your first real dive into the Abyss in Crimson Desert. After performing some good deeds around Hernand and making your way into Hernand Castle to use the Mystical Key, you’ll step through a portal into the enigmatic Abyss realm. If you haven’t already, be sure to grab the Faded Abyss Artifact from the chest in the portal room before entering, as it will allow you to respec later.
The initial segment where you unlock Axiom Force, align the circuits, and chat with Alustin is straightforward and well-taught, but you’ll encounter a few trickier puzzles afterward. Here’s how to navigate Abyss Without Balance.
After your conversation with Alustin in the Axiom Archive, you’ll find yourself outside again. You need to “Pass through the gate and operate the alignment device with Axiom Force” to activate the skybridge. The gate is right in front of you, so head through it to reveal the alignment device—a pillar with a dial. Your task is to:
Following this, you’ll embark on a lengthy platforming segment. It’s mostly simple, but there’s one jump to a higher platform that may seem daunting—just run, jump, and press space to grab the edge and pull yourself up. You’ll also need to wait for a few slow-moving platforms to arrive, so patience is key.
Once you finish this section, you’ll reach the heart of the Abyss, where you can activate an Abyss Nexus fast travel point. However, there’s one more puzzle to tackle.
In front of the Abyss Nexus you just activated, you’ll find a puzzle in a courtyard area. The first task is to “Move the floating power core to the deactivated lantern.” Here’s what you need to do:
With that completed, you’re all set. Collect the Abyss Artifact that appears and then speak to White Crow to wrap up Chapter 1.
