In Crimson Desert, you’ll first encounter arm wrestling during the Chapter 1 main quest when you arrive in Hernand. In the quest titled Where Rumors Gather, you’ll head to the tavern to gather intel on your scattered Greymane allies, and what better way to do that than through a random minigame? Priorities, right, Kliff?
The arm wrestling minigame is pretty simple, especially if you’re good at mashing buttons. Here’s a quick guide to help you progress through the Chapter 1 quest, which involves cleaning a chimney and heading to Hernand Castle.
Compared to other minigames in Crimson Desert, arm wrestling is relatively easy—definitely easier than figuring out how to fish. Here’s what you need to do:
Fill the icon completely with red to slam your opponent’s hand down and win the match. It’s essentially a button-mashing contest with a quicktime event mixed in, although the quicktime events in Crimson Desert can be a bit glitchy. For instance, there’s a later battle where a soldier tackles you and punches you repeatedly, and the only way to escape is by hitting a surprisingly tricky quicktime.
Also, when I defeated all the arm wrestlers in the tavern, I completed the Hero’s Handshake I challenge and earned an Abyss Artifact, so it’s definitely worth taking them all on.
